Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Thick, soft chocolate chip cookie bars baked in a sheet pan – easy to make, perfect for a crowd, and always gone fast.
Servings: 24 bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ cups butter (melted)
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 2 ½ cups chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉. Line a half sheet pan (18×13) with parchment
  2. Melt butter over low in a large saucepan. Whisk in sugars until smooth
  3. Cool slightly then add eggs, yolk and vanilla. Mix until glossy (60-90 seconds)
  4. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt just until combined
  5. Fold in chocolate chips
  6. Press dough evenly into pan
  7. Bake 18-22 minutes, until edges are golden and center is just set
  8. Cool completely before cutting
