Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 375℉. Prepare a half sheet pan (18" x 13") with parchment paper or grease well
- Combine flour and sugar in a bowl
- In a large saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil
- Remove from heat and add flour & sugar, buttermilk, almond & vanilla extract, and eggs
- Stir until smooth but don't overmix
- Pour into prepared sheet pan
- Bake for 22-26 minutes until center is set and toothpick comes out clean
- Let cool for 15-20 minutes
- While cake cools, prepare frosting
- Bring butter and milk to a boil in a medium saucepan and then remove from heat
- Add powdered sugar and extracts and whisk until smooth
- Pour evenly over cake a spread with frosting knife if needed
- Slice into bars after cake has completely cooled
