Double Crumble Apple Crisp

A cozy apple crisp made with tender cinnamon apples and an extra thick buttery oat crumble topping. Easy to make and perfect for fall gatherings, holidays, or anytime you want a comforting homemade dessert.
Servings: 12 servings

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lbs apples (any type)
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla
Topping
  • 1 cup salted butter (melted)
  • 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups flour
  • cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉ and grease a 9 x 13
  2. Peel and cut apples into roughly 1" chunks
  3. In a large bowl, mix apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, corn starch, cinnamon, and vanilla until evenly coated
Topping
  1. In a medium sauce pan, melt butter
  2. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes
  3. Add brown sugar, oats, flour, and cinnamon and mix until just combined
  4. Spread evenly over prepared apples
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until top is golden and apples are bubbly
  6. Serve warm with heavy cream or ice cream
